The Rose that Wept

“The Rose that Wept” 2017 for string quartet, written for and performed by the Goldner String Quartet, premiered by the Flinders String Quartet, commissioned by the National Women in Composition Development Program, winner of a place in the Flinders Quartet Composition Competition 2017

Program Note

This piece pays homage to the themes of my childhood, with a Hans Christian
Andersen-type darkness, and a flashback-style structure.
Written in conjunction with the National Women in Composition Development Project.
Thanks to the Goldner Quartet and the Flinders Quartet for their incredible input in
the execution of this work.
